As a self employed contractor, freelancer or sole trader, unforeseen accidents can cause an immediate impact on your income as you become unable to provide your services. Personal Accident Insurance provides you with a lump sum benefit should you suffer an accident that results in an insured injury, ensuring your income is protected during difficult times.

The cover provided ranges from £50 per day hospital benefit, to £50,000 in the event an Insured Person suffers permanent brain damage.

Please see the table of benefits provided below for full details of cover. Benefits are paid in full should a valid claim be received.

Should one incident cause multiple injuries, or should multiple claims be made during the policy period total value of all claims paid under the policy is £50,000.

Qdos Personal Accident Insurance provides up to £50 per day hospital benefit, and a lump sum payment up to £50,000, in the event of bodily injury as a result of an accident. The amount paid differs based on the injury suffered: please see table of benefits provided.

The accident does not need to have occurred during the provision of services.
Please note this policy does not provide cover in the event of:

  • The Insured Person’s suicide or attempted suicide or intentional self-injury or the Insured Person being in a state of insanity;
  • The Insured Person's own criminal act;
  • The Insured Person being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • An Accident occurring outside the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States of America, Canada, Australia or New Zealand
  • The Insured Person’s participation in any Hazardous Pursuit (as defined in the policy wording) such as extreme sports or activities in open seas
  • Any condition for which the Insured Person has sought advice, diagnosis, treatment or counselling or of which the Insured Person was or should reasonably have been aware at inception of this insurance contract or for which the Insured Person has been treated at any time prior to inception of this insurance contract.

Personal Accident Insurance provides a lump sum benefit in the event of bodily injury caused by an accident, as set out in the table of benefits provided. Contractor Sickness Cover however provides a monthly sum in the event of long-term disablement, whether from accident, sickness, or bodily injury. Contractor Sickness Cover is currently only available to limited company contractors, and also includes a lump sum in the event of accidental death.
